Piriankov is a laureate of many prestigious awards. In 2000, he received a distinction for his "Visages" series at the Miniature Biennale in Canada, and he won the Biennale of Sacred Art in Gorzów Wielkopolski. At the 2007 Florence Biennale of Contemporary Art, his monumental diptych "Presence" was honored with an award. That same year, Piriankov was awarded a medal by the Ministry of Culture of Bulgaria for his artistic achievements, and a retrospective exhibition of his work was organized in Sofia at the Ministry's invitation.
His painting is a modern fusion of classical inspirations, making his work highly sought after by renowned galleries and collectors who appreciate both his technically flawless skills as a draftsman and painter, and the visual beauty, classical perfection, and subtle value of his message. Piriankov is one of the few contemporary artists who can boast such a masterful command of classical drawing and painting methods. Sacred art and Byzantine icons—especially those present in his life in Bulgaria from an early age—have had a profound influence on his work.
His knowledge and skills stem from the renowned old school of realistic drawing in his native Bulgaria. There, he placed first in the entrance exams for the two largest Academies of Fine Arts; as a reward after his first year of studies, he received a scholarship to study in Poland. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Poznań with a degree in painting under Professor Jacek Waltoś, who instilled in him the spirit of the Kraków tradition.
Currently, he leads an active artistic life through numerous exhibitions at home and abroad, guest lectures at universities and art schools, and artist residencies where he exchanges creative experiences with others in the art world. He also implements socially engaged art projects and frequently participates in charity auctions for children, donating his paintings.
A natural educator, Piriankov began giving drawing lessons as early as 1994. After several years, this evolved into the flourishing "Ventzi School of Drawing, Painting, and Architecture." Its graduates are not only successful modern architects but also individuals who possess a rarely encountered, high-level mastery of classical drawing techniques.
His paintings are held in numerous collections in Poland, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Bulgaria, Denmark, Spain, China, and the United States.
